SEX AND THE CITY? ONLY IF IT’S HIM AND THE HISTORY

With the UK release date of Sex and the City just days away, women everywhere are going into meltdown.

However, while Carrie and Co. juggle men, Manolos and Manhattan, British women are more focused on romance, relationships and getting that all important ring.

According to a survey by Best Western Hotels, UK women are far more like marriage-minded Charlotte York than man-eating Samantha Jones. 52 per cent of women surveyed would chose York or Edinburgh for a romantic weekend in the hope that all its history might inspire their other half to commit to a long term relationship while only 4 per cent plumped for Cardiff to spend a sexy sleepover with their very own Tom Jones.

In joint second place with 13 per cent of the votes were the dreaming spires of Oxford and Cambridge, showing that like Miranda, British women are looking for someone to stimulate their brain and London for labels, shoes and more shoes – just like Carrie Bradshaw.

Best Western’s Mikhaila Brentnall says: “While we won’t turn down a Martini and a new pair of shoes on a romantic break, it appears that us British girls are looking for something a bit more substantial.”

The survey also reveals that Nottingham was voted the least sexy destination for a UK break. 18 per cent of women put it at the bottom of their list of dream destinations. The East Midlands city was closely followed in the un-sexy stakes by Leeds and Liverpool.
